In 2015, award-winning writer/director/producer George A. Johson met with actor Matt Moore and Pastor Kevin Stirratt to discuss creating a film school for teens and pre-teens where they could learn how to write, direct, and produce a short film for Youtube.  As time passed, the vision grew larger and larger until Johnson suggested that they go all out, and produce a feature length movie, and release it in theaters.

Over the next couple of years, Gaffer Media was formed, and Justin Landis came on board.  The team proceeded to teach and work with a small group of kids, ages 9-18, who had no previous filmmaking experience, and ultimately created the feature film, "Two Steps From Hope", written and produced by the students of Gaffer Media.
