The Story
Inspired by true events, Julian Santos grew up in an impoverished village in Brazil, where his single mother could barely afford food, but she did everything she could to give him a good life, and a heart for Jesus. But years later, when he earns a full-ride scholarship to play soccer for Asbury University & earn a business degree, he quickly forgets the God that his mother was so passionate about throughout his childhood.
Overwhelmed by the bright lights and energy of being a star athlete at an American University, Julian begins to chase fast cars, fast sports, and fast women. He signs up for several credit cards, and quickly becomes the most popular student on campus with his lavish lifestyle, but when the money runs out, the car is repossessed, the women walk away, and his teammates are no longer interested in him, forcing him to come to terms with the fact that his life was empty.
He befriends a professor and a kind-hearted female missions student who have seen through his facade from the beginning, and slowly discovers a relationship with the Jesus his mother has always prayed to, ultimately changing his life from the inside out.
